Welcome for BESA report

Becta welcomes the publication of the BESA Policy Commission report, which includes a recommendation that Becta should lead on the development of standards to support compatibility and interoperability of content, software and hardware.

The report by the Policy Commission, set up to mark the 75th anniversary of the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA), investigates the changing nature of education to help educators meet the challenges of the future.

Becta agrees that the development of standards is key to the effective use of technology and this is central to our work. The report recognises the importance of these standards in supporting personalised learning, the Home Access agenda and encouraging the involvement of parents.
